376 Wheels and tyres
Observe the following notes on fitting an emer-
gency spare wheel:
The collapsible spare wheel is an emergency
R
spare wheel which is only suitable for use for a
limited period of time and in a restricted man-
ner in the event of a flat tyre (e.g. until the
nearest workshop).
The tyre sidewalls are folded when in trans-
R
port mode. Before using the collapsible spare
wheel, inflate it using the accompanying com-
pressor.
Check the tyre pressure of the collapsible
R
spare wheel once fitted and, if necessary,
adjust.
The maximum permissible speed with a col-
R
lapsible spare wheel fitted is 80 km/h.
Do not fit the collapsible spare wheel with
R
snow chains.
Replace the collapsible spare wheel after six
R
years at the latest, regardless of wear.
Use the wheel bolts that are included with the
R
collapsible spare wheel.
Specified tightening torque: 180 Nm
%
Vehicles with a tyre pressure monitoring sys-
tem: if a collapsible spare wheel is fitted the
tyre pressure monitoring system cannot func-
tion reliably. For a few minutes after an emer-
gency spare wheel is fitted, the system may
still display the tyre pressure of the removed
wheel. Only restart the system again when the
collapsible spare wheel has been replaced
with a new wheel.
