Removing a cooling fan on 2U sled
Prerequisites

sled.
NOTE:
Observe the fan cable routing or make a note of the fan cable routing.
Steps
1. Pull the blue latch on the side of the fan module.
2. Slightly pull the fan handle to disengage it from guiding pin and lift to release the fan handle.
3. Disconnect the fan cable that is connected on the system board connector.
NOTE:
Fans 4, 5, and 6 respectively are connected on the 2U sled interposer board.
4. Lift the fan module out of the fan cage.
NOTE:
If the airflow directional arrow is indicating outward on the fan, this indicates Reverse-Air-Flow (RAF). If the
airflow directional arrow is indicating inward on the fan, this indicates Normal-Air-Flow (NAF).
