Installing the SonicWALL

Start by placing the SonicWALL TELE3 SP on a hard, flat surface near your cable modem, DSL
modem, or Internet router.
Connecting to Your Network
1. Apply Power to the SonicWALL - Attach the power supply to the power input on the
SonicWALL and plug the other end into a power outlet.
The Test LED stays on while the SonicWALL performs a series of diagnostic tests.
2. Connecting to the Internet - Connect the SonicWALL WAN port to your cable modem,
DSL modem, or Internet router using a grey Ethernet cable provided in the box. If the Link
LED does not light, try a red Crossover cable.
3. Connect the SonicWALL to your LAN - Connect the SonicWALL LAN port to network
card of your work computer using a red Crossover cable provided in the box. If the Link
LED does not light, try a grey Ethernet cable .

4. Connect the SonicWALL dialup access - Connect the modem port to the telephone jack
using the telephone cable provided. Check that the telephone line is active by connecting
a working telephone to it, and listening for a dial tone.
