Chapter 4. T1 Network Interface

Network (NI)

This menu item accesses the configuration of parameters
associated with the network interface in the base unit. There
are nine submenu items that include setting the format, the
(LBO), and the timing mode. Submenu items
Line Build Out
do not include setting the parameters which may be
necessary for a secondary interface (DSX-1 Passthru, etc.).
The
menu items and their descriptions follow.
NETWORK

Format

Sets the frame format for the NI.
Choices: D4, ESF, SLC96
D4 is equivalent to superframe format (SF).

Code

Sets the line code for the NI.
Choices: AMI, B8ZS.

YEL Alarm

Enables and disables the transmitting of yellow alarms.
Choices: ENA, DISA

XMIT PRM

Enables and disables the sending of PRM data on the facility
data link (FDL). The PRM data continues to be collected
even if XMIT PRM is disabled (possible only with ESF
Format).
Choices: Off, On.

Timing Mode

Selects the clock source for transmission toward the network
from the NI. See TSU 610 Clock Sources on page 4-11 for more
information.
Choices: Network, DTE (Slot 1), Normal (CSU),
U-BR1TE (Slot 1), Internal, and Secondary (SI).
