Trackball Controls

The trackball is the main interactive control used with on-screen objects.
Use the trackball to position tools, such as the ROI, Doppler cursor, and
measurement calipers, and to make selections from the on-screen menus.
You can also use the trackball in conjunction with the trackball keys located
on the control panel.

Select

The SELECT key functions as a point and select device when used with the
trackball. Use the SELECT key to make selections from on-screen menus
and to assign trackball control to on-screen tools (for example, Doppler gate
and Distance measurement tools). When a tool is active, the trackball
pointer (cursor) is not visible. To redisplay the pointer, press the
SELECT key.
The function of the SELECT key is dependent on the active task card.
Active Task Card
Function Description
Image
When the pointer (cursor) is positioned over the image
area, pressing the SELECT key alternates the trackball
function between a pointer (cursor) and the default mode
tool for the active mode (for example, the 2D FOV).
When the pointer is positioned over the Parameter
menu, the SELECT key allows you to interact with the
menu and group boxes.
Calcs
When the pointer (cursor) is positioned over the image
area, pressing the SELECT key anchors a measurement
caliper and generates the next caliper for positioning with
the trackball.
When the pointer is positioned on the left of the screen,
the SELECT key selects measurement tools (for
example, Distance, Volume, or Velocity), measurement
labels, and pictograms.
The SELECT key also selects items from the
Text/Picto (Text) group box, when displayed.
