Patient Registration

Use the Patient Registration form to search for previously entered
registration data, register a patient for immediate examination, or
pre-register a patient for a later examination.
You can also select a scheduled procedure from the patient browser for
registration.
To access the Patient Registration form:
Press the Patient key located on the keyboard, or select the
Patient Registration shortcut button at the bottom of the screen.

Registering or Pre-registering a Patient

You can register a patient and begin an examination, or you can pre-register
a patient for a later examination.
Pre-registration allows you to enter patient data for a patient without starting
the examination. You can then retrieve this previously entered patient data
at a later time to begin the examination. The system stores the patient data
for pre-registered patients in the Scheduler, which is located on the
system's hard disk and accessed from the patient browser. If a HIS/RIS
(Worklist) server is not connected to the system, then the system
automatically removes the patient data for the pre-registered patient from
the Scheduler when the patient is registered.
Note: You can schedule a patient and procedure(s) using a connected HIS/RIS (Worklist)
server. Use the patient browser to retrieve patient data for scheduled patients.
You can also retrieve previously entered patient data for registration. Use
the system presets to configure the search location(s) for previously entered
patient data, the maximum patient records to display for a search, and the
type of data to list for a search.
To register or pre-register a patient:
1. Press the Patient key located on the keyboard, or select the
Patient Registration shortcut button at the bottom of the screen.
The system displays the Patient Registration form.
2. Select the New Patient button on the upper left of the form (if the
button is available).
The system clears entries in the Patient Registration form.
