Selecting an Imaging Mode

When the system is powered on, it automatically displays in 2D-mode. You
can change imaging modes by pressing the mode controls located on the
control panel.
The ultrasound system has the following modes available:
2D-mode – 2D-mode is the default setting. When the system is
powered on, the image screen displays in 2D-mode.
M-mode – M-mode displays a 2D image and an M-mode sweep.
Doppler – Doppler displays a Doppler spectrum with a 2D image, either
simultaneously or using the update function.
The update function toggles a frozen 2D image with a real-time Doppler
spectrum, or a real-time 2D image with a frozen Doppler spectrum.
Color – Color displays in a 2D-mode image.
Power – Power detects and assigns color to the energy generated by
the reflections of blood flow in a 2D image.

Optimizing the Image

You can activate each mode of operation using the mode controls located on
the control panel. Mode-specific menus and selections display on the left of
the screen in the Image task card. Each imaging mode has a
Parameter menu
mode-dependent
such as dynamic range, transmit frequency, and edge enhancement.
Controls for imaging formats and mixed-mode Update Styles, SieScape,
3-Scape, on-screen Biopsy guidelines, VCR recording, and Physio settings
are organized into group boxes that display below the Parameter menu on
the screen. Other controls for optimizing an image are located on the control
