Installation Checklist

When you install a MGX 8850, MGX 8850/B, or MGX 8880 system, be sure that you follow the
installation procedures in the proper sequence.

Open rack—Modules and cards are shipped preinstalled in the MGX 8850, MGX 8850/B, or MGX
8880 system and are tested according to customer specifications before they are shipped. The system
is ready for installation in a customer-supplied open rack. The optional AC power supply tray, air
intake plenum, upper and lower fan trays, and exhaust plenum are packaged separately and will need
to be installed in the rack.
If you are not using a mechanical lift, you will need to remove the modules and cards from the MGX
system to lessen the weight of the chassis prior to installing it in the rack. Follow the installation
