Set up the EK15 to store the raw data recorded during the calibration process.
Raw data storage is strictly not needed, but it is a good routine to store them, and
they can also used for later calibration.

Adjust the position of the calibration sphere so that is located as close as possible to
the centre of the acoustic beam.

Click the
Fish Position
The icon is located on the
information pane.
The
Fish Position
of the detected single echoes for the current ping. The view is "from above". The
colour indicates the echo strength.

Place the mouse pointer in the "bulls eye".
Read the target strength (TS) value of the sphere, and write down the maximum

value after a period of minimum one minute.

Calibration
The purpose of the
measured target results from the system calibration.

11 Type in the reference target strength (TS) for the calibration sphere in use.
This is a known value taken from the documentation provided with the sphere.
12 Type in the measured target strength (TS) from your notes.
13 Click
to save the current settings and close the dialog box.

14 Set the EK15 to Inactive mode, and then back to Normal.
This is necessary for the calibration values to take effect.
