FINAL DRIVE / BRAKE SYSTEMS
JACKSHAFT REMOVAL
1. Follow the procedure for chaincase disassembly or
drive belt/sprocket/backer plate disassembly.
2. Remove the driven clutch assembly.
3. Remove the oil tank from the clutch guard. Remove
the clutch guard.

4. Remove the screws

5. Remove the bearing flangette

6. Extract the jackshaft

out of the tunnel.
7. Inspect the splines on the jackshaft for abnormal
wear. Inspect the bearing by feel. Replace bearing if it
does not roll smoothly.
JACKSHAFT INSTALLATION
1. Carefully insert the jackshaft through the bulkhead
and into the chaincase or QuickDrive.
2. Install the bearing flangette.
3. Loosely and evenly install all three fasteners
Torque fasteners to specification.

4. Reinstall the clutch guard and oil tank assembly.
5. Reinstall the driven clutch assembly.
6. Follow the procedure for chaincase reassembly or
drive belt/sprocket/backer plate reassembly.

18 ft-lbs (25 Nm)
