The following table describes the column headings and the icons you can use to view
and manage the log files when accessing logs saved to the disk.
Type
File name
Size
Last access time The day of the week, month, day, time, and year the log file was last added
To access log files on the FortiGate disk

Go to Log&Report > Log Access.

Select the log type you wish to access.

Select Disk from the Type list.

You can clear or delete, download, or view the log files by selecting the corresponding
icon.
To download log files from the FortiGate disk
When downloading a log file, you can save the log in plain text or CSV format.

Go to Log&Report > Log Access.

Select the log type you wish to access.

Select Disk from the Type list.

Select the Download icon for the file you wish to download.

Select Download file in normal or CSV format.

Select Open to view the log file or Save to save the log file to your computer.
To view and search log messages on the FortiGate disk

Go to Log&Report > Log Access.

Select the log type you wish to access.

Select Disk from the Type list.
Select the log location for which you want to view logs: disk or memory. For
some types of logs only disk storage is available.
The name(s) of the log file(s) of that type stored to disk.
The size of the log file in bytes.

Delete icon. Delete the entire log file. You can't delete the current log file.
Clear log icon. Delete the log entries from the log file (but not the file).
Download icon. Download the log as a text or CSV file.
View icon. Display the log file through the web-based manager.
