Operation

6.1

Switching on

WARNING - Risk of injury due to escaping
test oil or due to parts being thrown around!
If the hydraulic connection of the test
equipment and the test sample is not made
correctly, test oil can escape at high pres-
sure, or parts of the test equipment can
burst when starting the test.This can lead
to injurz or to material damage.

Before switching on, check that all the
hose lines on the test equipment and on
the test sample are connected correctly.
¶
Do not open the anti-splash housing,
until the EPS drive has stopped.
¶
Replace any leaking and defective hose-
lines.

The system software is described in the program
specification 1 689 989 099.

Voltage stabilizer operation is described in operating
instructions 1 689 979 951.
6.1.1

EPS 708

1. Close the guard.
2. Switch on the EPS at the master switch.
 The PC unit starts up.
3. Start the system software EPS945-PE/VE/CR.
 The software performs initialization of the devic-
es connected.
 The status displays light in green if all devices
have been successfully detected.
4. Open and close the protective hood.
 You have now activated the safety circuit.

operation.

6.1.2 EPS 815
1. Close guard doors.
2. Switch on EPS on main switch.
 PC unit starts up.
3. Switch on voltage stabilizer on mains switch.
4. Set voltage on voltage stabilizer:
$
14  0.5 Volt for passenger-car injectors
$
28  0.5 Volt for commercial-vehicle injectors
5. Set current limitation on voltage stabilizer to maxi-
mum (35 Amps).
6. Release voltage and current limitation on voltage
stabilizer
7. Start the system software EPS945-PE/VE/CR.
 Software initializes the connected devices.
 If all devices are correctly recognized, the status
indicators turn green.

If the status indicator for injector testing stays red
then you must check the connections on the control
electronics and check the input voltage of 14 Volts
or 28 Volts on the voltage stabilizer.
8. On the EPS control device switch on the converter
vvand test oil pump (Fig. 87, item 5) and enable the
controller (Fig. 87, item 1).
