For repaired injectors select the ---- classification.
13. If given, select the classification group or the IMA ID
for the injector.
14. Exit "Settings" dialog window with <F12>.
15. Call up "Measurement functions" selection menu
with <F7>.
16. Select "Automatic On/Off" menu option with <F12>.
 The automatic symbol flashes on and off in the
operating-state indicator.
17. Start testing with <F8>.
 The "Caution" dialog window appears. Continue
with <F12>
18. Set infeed pressure for high-pressure pump.
(EPS 815 only)
 The "Settings" dialog window appears. Follow in-
structions on screen.
 The EPS drive starts up and the Coils test Start
up step for passenger-car injectors is started.
 The measurement time commences.

The test sequence is started. All test steps are started
successively and the measured values determined.

Performing leakage test

WARNING : Risk of burns
Hot surfaces on the test pressure lines may
result in severe burn injuries to the hands.

Allow the test pressure lines to cool
down before detaching them.

Wear protective gloves.
The injectors are tested for signs of leaks in the "Leak-
age test" test step. The test is conducted by means of
measuring the return quantity and a visual inspection.
After starting the test step the rail pressure starts to rise
gradually until the set value is reached. At the same time
it is necessary to check whether test oil escapes at the
injection nozzle or injector housing. If test oil is detected
leaking from an injector, then the test must be stopped
immediately with <F8>. The leaking injector must be hy-
draulically detached and deactivated in the system soft-
ware in the "Settings" dialog window. For report purposes
the Leakage test failed symbol in the Leakage selection
field must be chosen. After this start the test again.

After removing the leaking injector seal the free high-
pressure terminal on the common rail.

Any test step change during the test sequence will
