!
The non-insulated cable lugs of the connecting cable
1 684 463 799 may cause a short circuit if they make
contact with the metal housing of the EPS 815 dur-
ing actuation of the injectors. In the event of a short
circuit, the test is interrupted and the fault message
"2041", "2043", "2045" or "2047" appears on the
screen.
4. Attach the two wires of the unused cables sepa-
rately to the rubber buffers (Fig. 70, item 1) of the
frame.

ATTENTION - Risk of burns from hot sur-
faces!
Hand burns may result from contact with
the hot surfaces of the test pressure line,
distributor rail or injection chamber.
Allow the test pressure lines, distributor
rail and injection chamber to cool down.
Wear protective gloves.
!
Never clamp injectors for testing if damaged or
severely corroded.
i
Injectors must always be cleaned (refer to
Section 5.1) before clamping for testing.

i
No more than four commercial vehicle injectors can
be clamped for each test. The maximum possible
number of injectors can be found in the system soft-
ware EPS 945 in the "Component selection" window
under "General values".

Fitting connection adapter

i
The appropriate connection adapter for the injec-
tor concerned can be found in the system software
EPS 945 in the "Component selection" window
under "General values".
1. Select the connection (Fig. 71, item 2) adapter.
2. Check the O-ring in the connection adapter for dam-
age (cracks etc.).
3. Insert the injector (Fig. 71, item 1) in the connec-
tion adapter. When doing so, the inlet bore must be
aligned with the hole for the inlet connector (Fig. 71,
item 3).
4. Turn the injector until the high-pressure inlet bore is
visible in the hole for the inlet connector.
!
Adherence to the correct torque when tightening
the inlet connector is essential. An excessively high
torque leads to preliminary damage and breakage of
the inlet connector during the test.
5. Screw the inlet connector (Fig. 71, item 3) into the
connection adapter and tighten.
Tightening torque: 20 – 25 Nm .
