Continued for all vehicles
– Place engine and gearbox jack - V.A.G 1383 A- under fuel tank
to support it.
– Unscrew securing bolts for fuel tank support -arrows-.
Note
The aid of a second mechanic is required to remove the fuel tank.
– Lower fuel tank slowly with engine and gearbox jack - V.A.G
1383 A- .
– Guide fuel tank out between body and rear axle.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Please observe the following:
– Check whether line -arrows- from four-wheel drive control unit
- J492- is clipped to fuel tank.
– Guide fuel tank in with help of 2nd mechanic.
– Use engine and gearbox jack - V.A.G 1383 A- to position fuel
tank on underbody.
