– Attach front exhaust pipe to tunnel bridge by wire.
– Remove propshaft ⇒ Rep. gr. 39 ; Propshaft; Removing and
installing propshaft .
– Remove exhaust system bracket ⇒ Rep. gr. 26 ; Exhaust
pipes/silencer; Assembly overview - silencers .
– Remove heat shield -1- on fuel tank, release securing clips
-arrows- for this.
– Open clips -A- and free line -1-.
– Lower rear axle as far as possible ⇒ Running gear, axles,
steering; Rep. gr. 42 ; Rear axle; Lowering rear axle .
– Separate connector -A- on four-wheel drive control unit -
