CLEANING UNIT

8-1. Cleaning Unit

The Cleaning Blade is pressed tightly against the surface of the PC Drum
and scrapes off any toner remaining on the surface after image transfer and
paper separation have been completed.
The Cleaning Blade is moved back and forth to prevent the PC Drum from
deteriorating and the Cleaning Blade from warping away from the surface of
the PC Drum.
There is a Toner Antispill Mylar affixed to the Imaging Unit. It prevents toner
scraped off the surface of the PC Drum from falling down onto the surface of
the copy paper or the paper path.
In addition, a Side Seal and Brush Seal are affixed to both ends of the
Imaging Unit on both sides of the Cleaning Blade. They prevent toner from
spilling from both ends of the Cleaning Blade.
