Install and Administer Trunks and Lines

Add Circuit Packs

Before physically installing the circuit pack, you need the assigned slot location (UUCSS), where UU is
the media gateway (MCC1, SCC1) or port network number, C is the media gateway or carrier (MCC1),
and SS is the slot location. The information is available from the person who adminstered the translations
(most likely the software specialist). If not, you can find the information on the Trunk Group Status
screen.

Get the trunk group number from the administrator.

Type status trunk-group number and press

Install the DS1 Interface circuit pack in the assigned slot.

Install a Tone Detector circuit pack, if required.

Connect Cables

Install and connect cables from the TN464GP to the Main Distribution Field as required.

Administer the Circuit Pack

Administer the screens listed under ISDN Trunk Group and Trunk Group screens described in the
Screen Reference chapter in the Administrator's Guide for the Avaya™ Communication Manager.

Resolve Alarms

Type display alarms and press

Examine the alarm log. Resolve any alarms that may exist using the appropriate maintenance
documentation.

Save Translations

Type save translation and press
to the hard drive.
