Preparing Your Site

For your UPS system to operate at peak efficiency, your installation site should
meet the environmental parameters outfined in the operator's manual for the UPS.
If you intend to operate the UPS at an altiide higher than Iso0 meters (5000 feet),
altitude operation. The operating environment must meet the size and weight
requirements shown in Table A, accOrding to your UPS system configuration:

The basic environmental requirements for operation of the UPS system are:
The UPS cabinet uses forced air cooling to regulate internal component
temperature.' The battery and optional component cabinets use convection cooling
to regulate internal component temperature. Air inlets are in the front of the
cabinet, and outtets are in the top. You must allow clearance in front Of and above
each cabinet tar proper air circulation.
It is recommended that the UPS system be installed on a sealed concrete pad on a
sealed concrete floor.

Preparing for Wiring the UPS System

For external wiring requirements, including the minimum AWG size of external
wiring, see Table L on page A-2. The power wiring for this equipment is rated at
75'C. If wire is run in an ambient temperature greater than 3O'C. higher
temperature and/or larger size wire may be necm. Wiring for OptiOnaf
accessories (such as an RMP or RIM) should be installed through l/2' conduit and
through the l/2" knockout in either the top or bottom of the UPS cabinet The top
entry connection requires installation of i/2" flexible conduit within the UPS.
Ambient Temperature Range: 10-40' C (So - 104' FJ
Recommended Operating Range: 20-25' C (68 - 77' F)
Maximum Relative Humidity: 95%
