Safety Functions Integrated in the Drive
Note
This Chapter describes the safety functions that are integrated in the drive – "safe
standstill" (SH) and "safe brake control" (SBC), which are controlled via the drive
terminals. The safety functions SH and SBC from the context of the
safety-relevant motion monitoring functions are described in Chapter 6
"System/drive-integrated safety functions". Control via terminals and from the
motion monitoring functions is in parallel and can be used independently of one
another.

In this Chapter, the NCU is designated "Control Unit".
Expected response
The monitoring functions in each monitoring channel work on the principle that a
defined status must prevail before each action is carried out and a specific ac-
knowledgement made after each action.
If this expected response in a monitoring channel is not fulfilled, the drive coasts to
a standstill (two channel) and an appropriate message is output.
