PISTON/PISTON RING
• First, install a spacer 1 into the oil ring groove and then install
two side rails 2. The spacer and side rails do not have a spe-
cific top or bottom when they are new. When reassembling
used parts, install them in their original place and direction.

When installing the spacer, be careful not to allow its
two ends to overlap in the piston ring groove.
• Install the 2nd ring and 1st ring.
NOTE:
1st ring and 2nd ring differ in shape.
• The 1st and 2nd piston rings should be installed with their
marks facing up.
• Position the piston ring gaps as shown.
NOTE:
Before inserting the piston into the cylinder, check that the gaps
are properly positioned.
