INSTRUMENT PANEL
7. Front Radio Speaker
Removal and Installation
a. Removal
1. Remove upper instrument panel cover as
described in Note la.
2. Scribe position of speaker on both sides at
mounting support elongated holes to insure proper
relation of speaker to upper instrument panel.
3. Remove four nuts and lock washers, two
each side, securing speaker to cowl mounting
bracket.
4. Remove steering column lower cover as
described in Note 2a.
5. Disconnect speaker wire connector, and re-
move speaker with support.
6. Remove four screws securing speaker to
support and remove speaker.
9. Headlamp Switch
Removal and Installation
a. Removal
1. Remove upper instrument panel cover as
described in Note la.
2. Disconnect one 6-way wire connector arid
one single connector from headlamp switch,
Fig. 15-4.
3. Depress spring loaded knob and rod release
button on bottom of switch housing and pull out
knob and rod assembly.
4. Remove knob and sleeve assembly using a
7/32 inch Allen head wrench, Fig. 15-5.

1. Install four screws securing speaker to
mounting support.
2. Connect speaker wire connector and position
speaker on studs at cowl mounting bracket.
3. Loosely install four nuts and lock washers
securing speaker to cowl mounting bracket.
4. Align speaker to scribed marks and tighten
four mounting nuts.
5. Install steering column lower cover as de-
scribed in Note 2b.
6. Install upper instrument panel cover as de-
scribed in Note lb.
8. Clock Removal and Installation
a. Removal
1. Rotate clock counterclockwise approximately
60° and pull clock from bezel.
2. Disconnect clock feed wire and bulb con-
nector from back of clock and remove clock.
b. Installation
1. Connect clock feed wire and bulb connector
to back of clock.
2. Insert clock into bezel opening with the
numeral two position straight up, then rotate
clock clockwise to lock into position.
1. Position headlamp switch in instrument panel
bezel and install escutcheon.
2. Install knob and sleeve assembly and tighten
with 7/32 inch Allen wrench, Fig. 15-5.
3. Install knob and rod assembly by snapping
in into position.

Connect one 6-way wire connector and one
single connector to headlamp switch.
5. Install upper instrument panel cover as de-
scribed in Note lb.
