SERVICE INFORMATION
T. Control Cable Adjustments
a. Defroster Control Cable
1. On Air Conditioned cars, remove the Air
Conditioner cross-car duct.
2. Set heater-defroster lever in "Off position
so that lever butts against casting.
3. Loosen bowden cable clamp retaining screw
on heater case.
4. Push bottom of defroster cam to right and
tighten clamp retaining screw while applying force
to cam.
b. Temperature Valve Cable
(60 and 62 Series Air Conditioned)
1. Remove glove box liner.
2. Set temperature lever in "Cooler" position.
3. Loosen bowden cable clamp retaining screw
on top of heater case.
4. Line up hole in cam to hole in cam mounting
bracket. Insert metal pin through holes and tighten
clamp retaining screw. Remove pin.
c. Temperature Valve Cable
(60 and 62 Series Non-Air Conditioned)
1. Remove glove box liner.
2. Set temperature lever in "Off" position.
3. Loosen bowden cable clamp retaining screw
on top of heater case.
4. Push valve arm to right and tighten clamp
retaining screw while applying force to arm.
d. Water Control Valve Cable (75 Series)
1. On Air Conditioned cars, remove the Air
Conditioner cross-car duct.
2. Remove screw holding access plate to front
of heater case, and remove access plate.
3. Set temperature lever in "Off" position.
4. Loosen bowden cable clamp retaining screw
inside of heater case.
5. Push water control valve down to stop and
tighten clamp retaining screw while applying force
to cam.
e. Ventilation Control Cables
(Non-Air Conditioned Cars)
1. Remove cowl kick pads.
2. Set ventilation levers in "Off"position.
3. Loosen bowden cable clamp retaining screws
on ventilation assembly.
4. Push on control cable until valves are com-
pletely closed and tighten clamp retaining screw
while applying force to cable.
2. Heater-Ventilation Control Panel
Removal and Installation
The procedure for removing and installing the
Heater - Ventilation Control Panel assembly is
described in Section 15, Note 14.
3. Heater Blower and Inlet Assembly
Removal and Installation
(60 and 62 Series)
The following procedure pertains to non-Air
Conditioned cars only. The procedure for remov-
ing and installing the blower assembly on Air
Conditioned cars is described in Note 53.
a. Removal
1. Lower antenna.
2. Raise hood, reach under fender and remove
screw holding radio antenna bottom mounting
bracket, and position antenna out of way.
3. Disconnect blower motor ground wire.
4. Disconnect blower motor feed wire.
5. Remove vacuum hose from vacuum dia-
phragm.
6. Remove two screws and five nuts securing
blower and inlet assembly to cowl and mounting
studs, and remove assembly through engine com-
partment.
7. If blower motor is to be replaced, remove
five screws securing blower motor to inlet as-
sembly and remove blower motor.
b. Installation
1. If previously removed, position blower motor
to inlet assembly and install five screws.
