Temperature sensor
Task
Temperature sensors are located directly in the stator winding of the motor.
They are used for direct temperature monitoring of the motor windings. This
indicates whether the motor is overloaded or functioning in the normal
operating range.
Caution
Electronic starters sDSSte / sDSte and sRSSte / sRSte can evaluate one tem-
perature sensor circuit!
Device parameters for temperature sensor – descriptions
Temperature sensor
You can disable this parameter if there is no temperature sensor in the motor.
You can enable this parameter if there is a temperature sensor in the motor.
Two types of temperature sensors are supported:
– Thermoclick. This is a switches that opens at a certain winding temperature
– PTC - Type A. This is a PTC-resistor (posistor) with a defined characteristic curve
complying with VDE 0660, Parts 302 and 303
Setting range:
• Disabled
• Thermoclick (switches with a fixed switch-on temperature)
• PTC - Type A (PTC-resistor with fixed resistance range)
Caution
If you parameterize "Disabled", the following parameters are ignored:
• Response to overload – temperature sensor
• Temperature sensor monitoring
If you parameterize "Thermoclick", the following parameters must be disabled:
• Temperature sensor monitoring
Caution
The temperature sensor circuit is electrically connected with "supply voltage
24 V DC not switched".
