6.9 Call l ogs

All D SC calls are logged.
The following call t ypes are recorded in call l ogs:
• distress
• distress relay
• distress acknowledgements
• sent p osition requests
• received position requests
• group calls
• all s hip calls
• individual r outine calls
The details below are recorded for e ach call:
• MMSI n umber(s) ( If a call i s relayed up to 3 MMSI
numbers can be recorded.)
• type of c all
• date and time of c all
• latitude and longitude (if s ent w ith the call)
• nature of d istress (specified distress calls only)
If t he call w as received from a contact i n the phonebook
then the contact n ame is displayed, o therwise the MMSI
number i s displayed.
Accessing the call l ogs
Follow the steps below to access the call l ogs.
From the DSC Calls menu: Menu > DSC Calls
1. Select
Call l ogs .
2. Select t he log you want t o view:
• Unread
• Distress calls
• Non-distress calls
• Outgoing calls

Options to view available options.
• Call B ack — return a received call.
• Resend — only available in the outgoing call l og.
• Call — available in the position log.
• Send position — available in the position log.

• Save to Phonebook

• Send ACK — available for u nacknowledged
individual r eceived calls.
• Delete — deletes the log entry.

6.10 Test c alls

A T est Call f eature is available for t he purposes of
testing your D SC VHF radio for c orrect o peration.
There are 2 types of t est c all:
• T est c all t o the US Coast G uard automated response
test c all s ervice (MMSI:
of t est c all w ill r eceive an automated response
(acknowledgement).
• T est call t o another v essel t hat h as a radio that
supports the test c all feature. Y our radio will
automatically acknowledge test c alls received from
other r adios.

correct r adio operation can be tested by making an
individual c all o n channel 7 0 to another D SC VHF radio.
Raymarine recommends that o nce you've successfully
placed a test c all y ou add the test c all M MSI t o your
radio's phonebook for e asy retrieval f or f uture test c alls.
For i nformation on how to add an MMSI t o your r adio's
phonebook, r efer t o the radio's user d ocumentation.
Note: Individual c alls (that i s, N O
US Coast G uard 003669999 MMSI w ill N OT receive
an automated response.
Note: The US Coast G uard automated response test
call s ervice is only available in the United S
its coastal w aters.
Making a test c all
From the Test c all menu: Menu > DSC Calls > T
