Important:
When planning and wiring, t ak
e into consideration
other p roducts in your s ystem, s ome of w hich (e.g.
sonar m odules) m ay place large power d emand
peaks on the vessel's electrical s ystem.
Note:
The information provided below is for g uidance only
to help protect y our p roduct. It c overs common
vessel p ower a rrangements, b ut d oes NOT cover
every scenario. If y ou are unsure how to provide
the correct l evel o f p rotection, p lease consult a n
authorized Raymarine dealer o r a suitably qualified
professional m arine electrician.
Implementation — direct c onnection to battery
• The power c able supplied with your p roduct m ay
be connected directly to the vessel'
s battery, via a
suitably rated fuse or b reaker.
• The power c able supplied with your p roduct m ay NOT
include a separate drain wire. If t his is the case, o nly
the power c able's red and black wires need to be
connected.
• If t he supplied power c able is NOT fitted with an inline
fuse, y ou MUST fit a suitably rated fuse or b reaker
between the red wire and the battery's positive
terminal.
• Refer t o the inline fuse ratings provided in the
product's documentation.
• If y ou need to extend the length of t he power c able
supplied with your p roduct, e nsure you observe the
dedicated
Power c able extensions
advice provided in
the product' s documentation.

A
Battery connection scenario A: s uitable for a
vessel w ith a common RF ground point. In
this scenario , i f y our p roduct's power c able is
supplied with a separate drain wire then it s hould
be connected to the vessel's common ground
point.
B
Battery connection scenario B: s uitable for
a vessel w ithout a common grounding point.
In this case
, i f y our p roduct's power c able is
supplied with a separate drain wire then it s hould
be connected directly to the battery's negative
terminal.
Implementation — connection to distribution panel
• Alternatively
, the supplied power c able may be
connected to a suitable breaker o r s witch on the
vessel's distribution panel o r f actory-fitted power
distribution point.
• The distribution point s hould be fed from the vessel's
primary power s ource by 8 AWG (8.36 mm
• Ideally, all e quipment s hould be wired to individual
suitably-rated thermal breakers or f uses, with
appropriate circuit p rotection. Where this is not
possible and more than 1 i tem of e quipment s hares a
breaker, use individual i n-line fuses for e ach power
circuit t o provide the necessary protection.

Fuse
• In all c ases, o bserve the recommended break
ratings provided in the product's documentation.
Important:
Be aware that t he suitable fuse rating for t he thermal
breaker o r f use is dependent o n the number o f
devices you are connecting.
Power c able extension
If y ou need to extend the length of t he power c able
supplied with your p roduct, e nsure you observe the
following advice:
• The power c able for e ach unit i n your s ystem should
