Se lecting a Net work
NETWORKS

From the Net works menu, choose Se lect
Select net
net. The mes sage Please wait is dis played
briefly.
If there is more than one net work within range, you can
use the navi ga tion key to scroll to the other net work(s).

When the net work you wish to use is dis played, press
to se lect it.

Note! If the home net work is within range and you are us ing it when
you ini ti ate your net work se lec tion, the name of the net work
is dis played with the mes sage Cur rent.
If you are us ing an other net work and your home net -
work is available, the name of the home net work is dis -
played with the mes sage Home.
If the home net work is not within range, the name of
an other net work is dis played with the mes sage Cur -
rent, Pre ferred, Avail able or For bid -
den.
• Cur rent means that the net work is cur rently used.
• Pre ferred means that the name of the net work is
in cluded in a list of pre ferred net works on your SIM
card.
• For bid den means that the name of the net work is
in cluded in a list of for bid den net works on your SIM
card and that you are not al lowed to use it. You can,
how ever, make emer gency calls.
• Avail able means that there is a net work within
range, which is not on ei ther the for bid den or pre -
ferred list on your SIM card. You can make emer gency
calls.
Some fea tures/menus are op era tor dependent
If you are in Ana log mode, Ana log + the net work
number (up to 5 dig its), and the side of the net work (A or
B) will be dis played on the mid dle line, and one of the fol -
low ing will be dis played on the bottom line: Home,
Cur rent, Pre ferred, or Avail able .
Note! An ana log net work is only avail able when a dual- mode SIM is
used.
If there is no net work within range, the mes sage No net -
work is dis played.
Starting an Auto matic Net work Search
NETWORKS An auto mat ic net work search can be started at any time.
New Search l From the Net works menu, se lect New search .
The phone auto mati cally starts search ing for a net work ac -
cord ing to your choices un der your net works menu and your
sub scrip tion.
For bid den Net works
The names of the for bid den net works are stored on your
SIM card. If such a for bid den net work is within range, it will
be omit ted when the phone searches for a net work (auto mat -
ic search mode).
If your home net work and a for bid den net work come to an
agree ment that al lows you to use the for bid den net work, you
can se lect this net work even though the mes sage For bid -
den is dis played.
