Se lect the Mi cro soft In fra red Sup port for Win dows ver -
sion 1.0.
•
Press Add/Re move.
•
Press OK.
Go to ' Step 3 – In stall In fra red Sup port' to con tinue the in -
stal la tion of the in fra red mo dem.

In sert the CD into your com puter' s CD drive or the
disk ette containing the In fra red sup port into the disk -
ette drive.

If you are us ing a disk ette or if your CD does not start
auto mati cally, se lect ' Run' in the ' Start' menu. Type
A:\setup if you are us ing disk ettes or D:\setup if you
are us ing a CD (could be an other drive). Press OK.

When the Setup dia logue ap pears on the screen, press
the In stall In fra red Sup port for Win dows 95 ver sion 2.0
but ton.

Fol low the in struc tions given on the screen

When the Add In fra red De vice Wiz ard ap pears, se lect
the Built- in in fra red port on lap top or desk top and
press Next.

When the next page of the Wiz ard ap pears on the
screen, se lect the COM port en abled for infra red com -
mu ni ca tion and press Next.

When the third and last page ap pears on the screen, ac -
cept the de fault set tings by pressing OK.
Af ter the in stal la tion you will re turn to the Setup dia logue
where you can con tinue the in stal la tions with Step 4 – In stall
In fra red Mo dem:

In sert the CD into your com puter' s CD drive or in sert
the disk ette into the disk ette drive.

Place the phone with the in fra red mo dem next to your
PC as in the il lus tra tion below. (The in fra red port may
be po si tioned dif fer ently on your com puter.)

Close the Con trol Panel if it is open.

Open the Con trol Panel.

Dou ble press the In fra red Moni tor icon.

Se lect the Op tions tab and make sure that the check
box ' En able in fra red com mu ni ca tion on:' is checked. In
most cases the in fra red com mu ni ca tion is en abled on
COM2 or COM3.
Tip! To check that the in fra red com mu ni ca tion is en abled, press
the Status tab. The mes sage One in fra red de vice
is in range should be dis played. Your com puter will
now dis cover the new hard ware and a dia logue box will ap -
pear.
