Dur ing a Call
When you are en gaged in a call, there are several func tions in
your CF888 to help you per form ac tions you might need dur -
ing the con ver sa tion.
Changing the Earpiece Vol ume
If you want to change the ear piece vol ume dur ing a call:
l Press the vol ume key on the side of the phone up or
down.
Press ing
in creases the vol ume.

Press ing
de creases the vol ume.
DOWN
Muting the Mi cro phone
To tem po rar ily mute the mi cro phone dur ing a call:

Using the Dis play as a Scratch Pad
If you, dur ing a call, need to write down a phone number, you
can use the Scratch Pad func tion in the CF888. To do this:
l En ter the number us ing the nu meric keys.

Some fea tures/menus are op era tor dependent
When you end the call, the number re mains in the dis play.
You can now call the number by press ing
Phone Book (see chap ter " The Phone Book" ).
In or der to, for ex am ple, per form bank ing by phone or con -
trol a phone an swer ing ma chine, you need to use codes.
These codes are sent as tone sig nals (also called DTMF
tones).
To send tone sig nals/codes dur ing a call:
l Press the ap pro pri ate keys (1-9, * and #).
Send ing DTMF tones in standby mode:
When di al ing a number with pause(s) in standby mode, the
first part of the number is sent as a tele phone number. Any
num bers af ter the p are sent as DTMF. A 3-sec ond pause is
gen er ated for each p sign, but the 3-sec ond timer can be
forced by press ing SEND.
In Ana log mode, the dig its be tween pauses are sent as DTMF
when YES is pressed. If LONG YES is pressed, the dig its
be tween pauses are hook flashed.

A p (pause) is sent by hold ing down a * key.
