In stal la tion – Win dows CE

Make sure that you have Mi cro soft H/PC Ex plorer or
Win dows CE Serv ices in stalled on your lap top. Also
make sure that com mu ni ca tion be tween your H/PC
and your PC is es tab lished.

In sert the CD into your PC' s CD drive or in sert the
disk ette containing the In fra red sup port into the disk -
ette drive.

In stall ing from CD:
When the setup dia logue box ap pears on the screen,
press the ' In stall I nfr ared Mo dem for Win dows CE'
but ton.
In stall ing from disk ette:
Se lect Run in the Start menu. Press ' Browse' and
locate the Win dows CE folder on your diskette drive. In
the Win dows CE folder, double-click ' I nstall' .
The in fra red mo dem will be in stalled auto mati cally on
your H/PC.

Re set your H/PC. (Usu ally this is done by press ing a re -
set but ton placed in the backup bat tery com part ment.)
If you in stalled from the CD, you will re turn to the set- up
dia logue af ter the in stal la tion, where you can con tinue by in -
stall ing the Mo bile Of fice Suite ap pli ca tion, for ex am ple.

Con necting Us ing the IR Link
The IR fea ture of the CF888 al lows you to con nect to a com -
puter with out us ing a ca ble. This op tion re quires that your
com puter has an IR port, and that the op er at ing sys tem sup -
ports the IrDA stan dard for in fra red com mu ni ca tion (see
above). To en able IR com mu ni ca tion:

On your com puter, start the in fra red ap pli ca tion by
double- clicking the icon in the ' Con trol Panel' .

Place the phone less than one foot from the com puter
and make sure the IR ports are aligned (within 30° ).
Your PC will now es tab lish con tact with your phone.
This is in di cated by the in fra red icon in the status bar.

Now you are ready to start infrared com mu ni ca tion be -
tween your com puter and your phone.
Note!
Bef ore dis es tab lish ing con tact be tween your PC and your
CF888, make sure that you close any com mu nication ap pli ca -
tion on your PC.
