Mount the D125B and the OctoPOPIT in the same enclosure with the control panel or in a
separate enclosure connected to the control panel's enclosure by a conduit not more than 20
ft (6 m) away.
Notice!
You can connect non-powered, fire initiating devices such as pull-stations, heat detectors,
and UL Listed four-wire smoke detectors directly to the point inputs on the D8128D.
Address settings
The switches on the D8128D set point assignments and line termination. Switches 1, 2, 3, and
4 assign the OctoPOPIT sensor loops to point numbers on the control panel. Switch 5 sets
line termination. For more information, refer to D8128D address settings, page 167.

Off-board points test

Use the Service Walk Test to ensure that all off-board points operate properly.
Notice!
Walk test does not show extra points
If you set the address switches on off-board point modules, the control panel might create
missing and extra points. If the address switches on two or more modules are set to the same
address, the points associated with that address do not test correctly.

Extra Point events

The control panel generates Extra Point events when it detects a fault for an assigned point
with its Point Profile set to 0 (disabled).
An SDI2 Wireless point is considered assigned when its Point Source is Wireless and it has an
RFID assigned.
On-board points cannot produce Extra Point events. Points that are Service Bypassed cannot
produce Extra Point events.
13.6

Missing point conditions

Point programming and the state of the area that the point is in sets how the control panel
operates. For example:
Non-fire, 24-hour points always make a Missing Alarm event. Fire points always make a Missing
Fire Trouble event.
