16 Needle guard and needle guard plate
16.1 Setting the needle guard
The movable needle guard is supposed to prevent the needle from being
deflected into the path of the hook.
Proper setting
When the hook tip moves to the left and reaches the needle, the needle
guard automatically swings towards the needle. In this position, the needle
must touch the needle guard.
The timing of the needle guard movement cannot be altered.
