3. Disassemble throat plate ( p. 28), throat plate slide ( p. 27) and

6. Loosen both threaded pins (3) on each component and slide them to

8. Turn the hook such that the hook tip (1) points exactly to the vertical

10. Tighten the threaded pins (3).
11. Remove the lock.
12. Assemble the feed dog ( p. 30).
13. Assemble throat plate, throat plate slide and free arm cover ( p. 27).
14. Finish the service routine.
15. Check the looping stroke position.

The needle guard prevents contact between needle and hook tip.
Order
First, check the following settings:
Proper setting
Machine is locked in place at the looping stroke position (202°) ( p. 34).
The needle guard pushes the needle away just enough so that it cannot
be touched by the hook tip.
To adjust the needle guard:
1. Execute the service routine Needle-Hook > Timing ( p. 14).
