Note:
This stack can be any one of the M4300 models, but this procedure
example uses M4300-12X12F and M4300-24X for the steps below.
3.
When the 12.0.2.17 image is running, download the 6.6.4.x image into this unit/stack.
Note:
The 6.6.4.x image can be downloaded in the usual way via the Web
UI (and also through CLI). This image can be downloaded as the
Active or as the Backup image. If the image is downloaded as the
Backup image, activate this image via Web UI (or via CLI).
4.
Reload the switch to come up with the 6.6.4.x image.
Note:
At this stage, all previous configurations from 12.0.2.x will be lost, and
the switch will come up with a default configuration, similar to the
default configuration of S3300.
5.
Now that the switch is running the 6.6.4.x image, configure a maximum of four ports (any
four from the eight available ports listed below) into Stacking mode and reload the switch:
M4300-24X: ports 17–24
M4300-12X12F: ports 9–12 and ports 21–24
When M4300 is running with the 6.6.4.x image, configuration setting via service port and
console port will no longer be available. Smart Control Center (SCC) can be used to discover
the Smart M4300 and do some basic settings, same as that can be done on the S3300.
M4300 has a default Management IP of 192.168.0.239 if it cannot get an IP address from an
available DHCP server.
Steps to Follow for S3300
1.
Download the 6.6.4.x image directly into the S3300 unit as the stack from the running
6.6.0.x or 6.6.1.x image.
Note:

UI. This image can be downloaded as the Active or as the Backup
image. If the image is downloaded as the Backup image, activate this
image using the Web UI.
