2. Remove heater outlet. 3. Remove diaphragm.
3. Remove diaphragm retaining nuts from below. 4. To replace, reverse removal procedure.
4. Remove nut retaining actuating lever to pin and
remove diaphragm.

1. Disconnect vacuum hose from diaphragm (Fig. 1
2 1).
2. Remove diaphragm retaining screws and spring.
1. Disconnect vacuum source hose in engine compart-
ment, remove dash grommet and feed hose through
dash opening into car.
2. Disconnect vacuum hoses from defroster and air dia-
phragms on heater case.
3. Disconnect hoses from rotary vacuum valve on con-
trol panel and remove harness (Fig. 1-1 1).
