Understanding the Operator Panel

Paper Type Indicator

This shows the paper type defined for the current paper source. Automatic
paper source switching is available according to the paper type.
The paper type can be specified at the operator panel. See

The following abbreviations are used to indicate the paper type.

The following indicators light during normal
operation and when the printer needs attention.

Flashing: Indicates errors that you can correct yourself. Flashing

Lit Lit: Indicates that the printer is online and ready.

Off: Indicates that the printer is offline. The printer can Off

receive data, but will not print it. The indicator can also signal
that printing has been manually or automatically stopped due
to an error.

Lit: Indicates either that data is being processed, or that data Lit

Off: Indicates that the printer is idle. Off

insufficient, that toner is low or other warning messages.

mechanical maintenance is needed or indicates a problem that
requires a call to the service center.
