34.2 Return to Service Information

These return to service procedures are intended to verify the serviceability of the appliance only. These
tests alone do not verify or otherwise validate the airworthiness of the installation.
34.2.1 GDU 37X/GDU 45X/GDU 46X
34.2.1.1 Original GDU 37X/GDU 45X/GDU 46X is Reinstalled
No software or configuration loading is required if the original GDU 37X/GDU 45X/GDU 46X is
reinstalled. Continue to Section 34.2.2.
34.2.1.2 Original GDU 37X/GDU 45X/GDU 46X(s) Installed in a Different Position
No software or configuration loading is required if the GDU 37X/GDU 45X/GDU 46X is installed in a
different location. Continue to Section 34.2.2.
34.2.1.3 New GDU 37X/GDU 45X/GDU 46X(s) Installed
If a new GDU 37X/GDU 45X/GDU 46X is installed (new serial number), verify the correct software
version on the MAIN page (GDU 37X) or on the System Information page (GDU 45X/46X) in
configuration mode. Additionally verify that all installed displays have the same software version, as well
as NavData, terrain, and obstacle databases. If the correct software version is not installed, update the
displays to the current G3X system software available on the web. No configuration is required if the
configuration module is still operational. Continue to
34.2.1.4 New GDU 37X/GDU 45X/GDU 46X (PFD) Configuration Module Installed
Ensure that a new configuration module is obtained for the replacement installation. If a new
configuration module is installed and no change is made to the PFD, the PFD will write the required
configuration information to the configuration module. If the PFD and the configuration module are both
replaced, the system will need to be configured
46X).
NOTE
Do not use a used GDU configuration module as a replacement. Data that may reside on
the used configuration module may cause system configuration errors.
