  • Page 14 FLIGHT MANUAL STEMME S12 3.9.4.21 Abnormal Operation of the G3X Touch System Red X: When a line replaceable unit (LRU) or a LRU function fails, a large red ‘X’ is typically displayed over the instrument(s) or data experiencing the failure.

CAS Annunciation includes exceedance of engine parameters monitored by the GARMIN Engine Indication System (EIS). Indication of Unusual Attitudes: The Attitude Indicator includes permanent red warning chevrons to indicate extreme pitch angles.

  • Page 28 FLIGHT MANUAL STEMME S12 4.1.1.1 Airspeed Indicator The Airspeed Indicator displays airspeed on a rolling number gauge using a moving tape. The true airspeed (TAS) is displayed in knots above the Airspeed Indicator. The actual airspeed is displayed inside the black pointer.

The Attitude Indicator displays the pitch (indicated by the yellow symbolic aircraft on the pitch scale), roll, and slip/skid information.

Tick marks to the left and right of the displayed heading denote standard turn rates (3°/sec). A magenta Turn Rate Trend Vector shows the current turn rate. The end of the trend vector gives the heading predicted in 6 seconds, based on the present turn rate.

Green bands on the instruments indicate normal ranges of operation; yellow and red bands indicate caution and warning, respectively. When unsafe operating conditions occur, the corresponding caution readout will display solid yellow and the warning readout will flash red.

The time delay allows the propeller blades to be fully deployed before the engine starts, and consequently reduces the loads for the propeller blades and their corresponding stops.

    FLIGHT MANUAL STEMME S12 7.1.2 System Architecture The heart of the G3X Touch system is a display unit (GDUxxx), combined with an ADAHRS (GSU25), an OAT probe (GTP59) and a magnetometer (GMU11). Connected to the electrical and the pitot-static system of the aircraft, this minimum configuration provides airspeed, altitude, attitude, heading and navigation information to the pilot.
