11 GMC 305 (AFCS MODE CONTROLLER) INSTALLATION
This section contains general information as well as installation information for the GMC 305. Use this
section to mount the GMC 305 unit.

11.1 Equipment Description

The GMC 305 is a Garmin Automatic Flight Control System (AFCS) Mode Controller that can be used in
a G3X installation. The GMC 305 provides a user interface for the autopilot function of the G3X system.
The GMC 305 mounts flush to the aircraft instrument panel using four threaded cap screws.

11.2.2 Additional Equipment Required
The following accessories are not provided with the GMC 305 unit. The Installation Kit (Table 11-2) is
required to install the unit. The Installation Kit includes the Connector Kit (Table 11-3) and the Mounting
Kit (Table 11-4).
