Sensor
The guide plate moves away from the paper path. Because of this, the leading
edge of copies in the jogger unit does not hit the exit rollers, and is not aligned
incorrectly before stapling.
This is done for all paper sizes, but it is only necessary for long paper sizes.
The home position sensor detects that the gate is closed when the actuator is in
the sensor.
There is no guide plate open sensor. To open the guide plate, the machine
checks how long the guide plate motor was on, then stops the motor at a set time.
