Stapler
The jogger motor moves the jogger fence.
The fences jog every page
The jogger home position sensor detects when the jogger fence
is at the home position after jogging a page.
Tray capacity: 30 sheets
Larger sets are fed out 30 pages at a time.
Jogging is done for even-numbered sets only (sets 2, 4, 6, 8, etc of a multi-set
copy job).
Each sheet is jogged after it gets to the end fence.
The jogging mechanism starts every page.
If a set of copies contains more than 30 sheets, the first 30 sheets are fed out
after they get to the jogger tray (the exit unit moves down to do this). Then the
remaining part of the set is fed back to the jogger unit, and fed out. With this
procedure, the sets are not mixed on the output tray.
The jogger tray only operates for even-numbered sets. Because of this, it is not
the same as a jogger tray in most finishers. The main purpose of this jogger tray
is to move alternate sets to one side, and then the user can collect them from the
output tray easily.
Also, the jogger tray collects each set in stapling mode, and moves the set to one
side. Then it can be stapled.
The stapler is attached to the side of the jogger tray.
This movement to the side also makes the stack tidy before it is stapled.
