A 05.40 Alternator / Magnet segments

General:
It is recommended to always check the
alternator for degree of function before any
disassembly.
Ref.: Section 4
Preparations:
– Remove flywheel (M 17.00).
Version A 05.40.1
The magnet segments are located on the
flywheel by means of centering/roll pins.
Version A 05.40.2
The magnet segments are located on the
flywheel by means of a machined location
ring groove.
Version A 05.40.3
The magnet segments are substituted by a
magnet ring.
Dismantling:
– Remove in numerical sequence
Inspection / repair:
– Check magnet segments for wear or any
other damage.
Assembly:
– Assemble in reverse sequence
Torque to specification!
