8.1

CLEANING

8.1.1

CLEANING STAFF

Cleaning work should be undertaken regularly and carefully by qualifi ed and trained staff .
The staff must be familiar with the DIN EN 50050-2 and DIN EN 50177 provisions. They
should be informed of specifi c hazards during their training.
The following hazards may arise during cleaning work:
Health hazard from inhaling powder paint
Use of unsuitable cleaning tools and aids

Explosive powder/air mixes!
Danger to life and equipment damage.

Before starting cleaning or any other manual work, the
high-voltage must be shut down and locked to prevent it from
being switched back on!
The spray gun must be separated from the high-voltage supply
before any cleaning work is started!
Use only electrically conductive containers for cleaning liquids!
Ground the containers!
Preference should be given to non-fl ammable cleaning fl uids.
Flammable cleaning fl uids may only be used if, once the
high-voltage has been switched off and all parts carrying
high-voltage are discharged to a discharge energy of less than
0,24 mJ before they can be accessed.
Most fl ammable solvents have a fi ring power of around 24 mJ or
60 nC.
The cleaning agent's fl ash point must be at least 15 K above the
ambient temperature.
Only mobile industrial vacuum cleaners of construction type 1
(see EN 60335-2) may be used to remove dust deposits.
