Chapter 2 Preparations

Removing Top Cover

You need to remove top cover when installing or removing the following component:
Internal flash memory,
Processor,
Extra battery for RAID controller, Back up file device
PCI card,
Additional HDD cage(rear),
Optical disk drive

Refer to steps 1 to 4 in Chapter 2 (1.3 Overview of Installation and Removal) for preparations.
2.
Slide the top cover toward the front of the server while pressing the lock button on the cover.
3.
Lift off the top cover (front) from the server.
4.
Loosen the thumb nut on rear of the server, and slide the top cover (rear) to rear side.

DIMM
Additional HDD cage
Additional/redundant fan unit
Important
Before removing the top cover, be sure to disconnect cables from PCI card such as
LAN adapter. If not, cables may be damaged.
