Introduction
To scan a document, you must place the originals either in the Automatic
Document Feeder (ADF) or on the glass. Then use either the Public Scan
feature or the Private Scan feature as appropriate.
Placing the Originals
This section outlines how to place documents for scanning.
Using the Automatic Document Feeder
Note: Remove any paper clips or staples from the originals before
placing them on the feed tray.
Align the edges of the originals. Set the originals face up on the feed tray,
then align the sliders to the edges of the originals.
Up to 100 sheets can be placed in the ADF at one time. Continuous
scanning is possible. The total number of images is dependent on the
scan resolution. Each batch (up to 100 sheets) cannot exceed the internal
space available on the digital copier, which is 300 MB for the im8130/
im6530 digital copier.
When the batch (up to 100 sheets) is complete, you can continue the scan
job. Place a second batch, again up to 100 sheets) in the ADF and press
C
ONTINUE
exceed 1 GB of data.
If any of the limits are exceeded (over 300 MB, or over 1 GB total), an error
is posted notifying you of a scan overflow and the remainder of the job is
cancelled.
