Nikon recommends daily care and maintenance for maintaining the performance as long as
possible.
Do not let dust, fingerprints, and the like, get on the lenses. Dirt on the lenses, filters, and
the like will adversely affect the optical performance of the microscope.
If lenses are contaminated, clean them according to the procedure described in "6.2
Cleaning the lens". When cleaning, be sure to turn off the power switch (flip the switch to the
" " side) to avoid malfunction.
6.1

Daily care and maintenance

Clean the parts frequently manipulated by hands, such as eyepieces and glass plate
according to the procedure described in "6.2 Cleaning the lens" without removing them from
the microscope. Nikon recommends cleaning them frequently.
Clean the bottom ends of objectives, condenser lens, filter, and the like to maintain the
optical performance. When cleaning the objectives, remove them from the microscope
following the steps described in "4.7.1 When removing the objectives." Clean the condenser
by removing the glass plate. Clean them whenever they are contaminated.
Microscopes and stages are contaminated with use. When you find the microscope is
contaminated, clean them according to the description in "6.3 Cleaning this equipment".
6.2

Cleaning the lens

If any of the lenses get dirty, clean them using the cleaning tool and supplies (consumables)
and following the cleaning procedure described below.
