Clearing the Bridge Password

You can use the button labeled Clear on the back of the bridge to erase the bridge access
password if the password is lost or forgotten. The bridge must be operational (powered on and
not in self-test).
Press the Clear button for approximately one second to erase the bridge password.
You can verify the password has been erased by starting a console session. If the password was
erased, you will not be prompted for it.
Note
Use care when clearing the bridge access password. Once the password is
erased, access to the bridge console commands and the bridge configuration
capabilities from an HP network management station will no longer be password
protected.
Password protection can be restored by using the Password command (PA) on
the bridge console. See "PAssword" under "Main Menu Commands" in this
chapter.
The password can also be set or changed from an HP network management
station. See your network management documentation for the procedures.
