The following procedure assumes that you are using the CS400 as part of your system,
and that you are using the USB interface. If you are using the IEEE 1394 interface, GRAPHTEC
CS400-10 IEEE 1394 SBP2 Device will be displayed where CS400-10 is displayed when
the USB interface is used. Substitute CS300-10 for CS400-10 for guidelines as to how to
use the CS300.
(1) Connect the scanner to the computer, turn on the scanner first, and then turn on the
computer. When Windows starts up, insert the CD-ROM supplied with the scanner in
the CD-ROM drive. Turn on the power to the scanner.
(2) When Windows XP starts up, the following window appears.
(3) Next, the Found New Hardware Wizard window appears.
Select the option "Install from a list or a specific location (Advanced)".
(4) The screen shown below is displayed when you click Next.
Select the option "Search for the best driver in these locations" and select the check
box entitled "Include this location in the search".
Click Browse and select the DRIVER folder in the CD-ROM drive or enter a CD-ROM
drive name and \DRIVER using the keyboard.
Example: For drive E, enter "E:\DRIVER."
