Procedures in cold weather

During the cold season or at temperatures below 0°C (+32°F),
note the following points:
– Make sure that the freezing point of the coolant corresponds to
the weather conditions. See Coolant with antifreeze and cor-
rosion protection on page 145.
– Use recommended lubricating oil for winter use. See Recom-
mended lubricants on page 177.
– Fill the fuel tank after work has finished for the day, to counter-
act the formation of condensation water in the tank
– When the engine has started, run it at low speed and light load-
ing until the oil in the engine and hydraulic system has warmed
up and become more fluid to provide proper lubrication.
IMPORTANT
When it is very cold (below -15°C=+5°F) the machine must
not be put to hard work immediately after the engine has
been started. Allow the engine to idle for 10~15 minutes.
