Handling lines, tubes and hoses

Handling lines, tubes and hoses
WARNING!
If oil or fuel leaks from high pressure hoses, it may cause
serious injury through fire or defective actuation. If any
damage to the hoses or loose bolts is found, stop
operations immediately and contact an authorized Volvo CE
dealer.
Do not bend high pressure lines.
Do not strike high pressure lines.
Do not install any lines that are bent or damaged.
Check lines, tubes and hoses carefully.
Leaks may cause fires. Consult your Volvo CE dealer for the repair
or for replacement parts.
Do not use your bare hand to check for leaks.
Tighten all connections. Consult your Volvo CE dealer for the rec-
ommended tightening torque.

Replacing lines, tubes and hoses

If any of the following conditions are found, replace the parts.
– End fittings are damaged or leaking.
– Outer coverings are chafed or cut.
– Strengthening wires are exposed.
– Outer coverings are ballooning.
– Flexible part of the hoses are kinked.
– End fittings are displaced.
– Foreign material is embeded in the coverings.
IMPORTANT
Make sure that all clamps, guards and heat shields are installed
correctly. During machine operation, this will help to prevent vibra-
tion, rubbing against other parts and excessive heat.
